Congratulations to the Manzano Concert & Symphonic Band

UNANIMOUS SUPERIOR RATINGS FOR CONCERT PERFORMANCE!

The Manzano Band Department is proud to announce that both our Concert & Symphonic Bands received unanimous first division superior ratings for their 2012 U.I.L. Concert Performances.  The band would like to thank everyone that share their expertise with our band program to help us produce a performance that represents what our great students are truely capable of achieving and helping us create a musical performance that inspires us to continue to create, share and enjoy music for rest of our lives.

The Concert Band performance is dedicated to Mr. Manzano who is recovering from surgery and was not able to conduct the concert band.

18 MANZANO BAND MEMBERS SELECTED TO THE 2012 MIDDLE SCHOOL REGION BAND!

Congratulations to our outstanding band members that competed and earned a spot in the 2012 Region Band.  This accomplishment represents the highest level of music achievement and is a result of pride, hard work, and dedication to excellence.  Congratulations to everyone that competed on Saturday.  Your leadership has set the standard for the future of the Manzano Middle School Band.  You guys are awesome!

The Manzano Band is proud to announce the election of Cassandra Gonzalez to the position of Student Council President. Cassy is an amazing flute player and leader in the Manzano Band.  The Manzano Band and Manzano Middle School is fortunate to have such an outstanding young lady setting an example of what it takes to make a positive difference.   

  Congratulations to our 2011 Fall Solo Medal Winners! 

The Manzano Middle School Band Dept. is proud to announce that 70 of our 2nd year band members earned a superior rating at the 2011 Fall Solo Contest!  The contest was held on October 5 & 6 and our students were judged by a panel of Brownsville's finest.  Our outstanding band members  demonstrated superior skill, dedication, motivation and a commitment to excellence.  This achievement surpassed our GOAL #1 expectation of 56 solo medals which would have been twice as many medals awarded  lastyear.
